Jaguar, born, Charles Njagwa Kanji, yes it is ‘Kanji’, hence the stage name ‘Jaguar’, who is 24 this year has come a long way.

His interest in music and performing goes way back to his early Primary School days, but it was not until High School at Senior Chief Koinange High School that Charles got serious.

Teaming up with Sharky and Kalaway they formed a group called ‘Kicks’, which was later christened ‘Jawabu’.

Performing at an early age was fun for Jaguar and the group, like all beginners, all that mattered was good sounds and good crowds, and they certainly enjoyed it all.

Once having tested the market through performances Jaguar, ventured into putting his Talent on tape, and this he did in style. He recorded his first ‘Hit’ single, ‘Utaweza Kweli’ with Mandugu Digital and this was followed by the popular ‘hit’ song ‘Furaha’, and here he nailed it, ‘ Furaha’ was an instant Hit, times were fun and Jaguar was riding high.

It was time to move on and he landed at the famous Ogopa Deejay’s Studio, the home to many Kenyan Artistes of the time, where he recorded tracks, ‘Fanya Mambo’ and ‘Unaniwasha’, both tracks did very well on the local scene.

Success in Studios is always accompanied with success on the Road, and ‘On the Road’ he went, it was time to tour different towns in Kenya and the neighbouring States of Uganda and Tanzania.

He later landed a deal to Tour the U.S., where he performed to great audiences in ten States.

This was an experience Jaguar will never forget, it was fun and business and throughout his performances audiences were thrilled with his Stage Art. He spent a good six months in the U.S.

The young Charles who was inspired in his early days by the works of celebrity superstars, such as Shaggy, Beenie Man and the Main Man, Sean Paul, was now a household name, Jaguar, has come of age and is currently enjoying the success of his album, ‘Jina Langu’, which is riding high in the Market.

He has released seven Videos which you can view on www.utube.com

The icing of his success is the recognition of his achievements, his song ‘ Furaha’ was voted song of the year, and he has also won ‘The Hottest Male Artiste of the Year’, amongst other accolades.

As he puts it, there’s no looking back, its determination, dedication and hard work to reach the ultimate world market.

To his many fans, thank you for all your support and keep on Track.
